“BLING” Miracle Fly Kit – 1/80th (25 count)
For those who have followed me know that we are now having issues finding Wapsi GSP dyed thread. They have discontinued this and only carry GSP in white (you can also use veevus GSP in 100 denier as well). So that’s what I use, but I have found out, because the thread isn’t bonded due to the white not being dyed, it splits the thread and it lays flat on the hook shank and in return I don’t think it really grabs and secure the yarn as tight on the hook shank. I found this out when tying a batch with 100 denier GSP in white and I could tell that they ball didn’t last as long while fishing it like the 75 denier dyed GSP in yellow and red, which I love. I now have to glue the thread base to give the pattern more durability. So keep that in mind if you find yourself in the same situation.
Another important tip is which tube to use. The kit comes with three and I really only use the large and the smaller one. I use the large one with the jig head eggs and the small one for size 14 baby eggs. The pulley you get is too short so I replaced that with a longer one. If you struggle with tying these, I’m always at our booth during Sowbug Roundup tying these so make sure you stop by at the end of March every year and I’ll be glad to show you!!
25 COUNT Jig Hooks
This kit comes with everything you need to stock up on miracle flies. I think this a great idea because it takes the guess work out on getting the right materials. These are the correct tubes, the best yarn on the market, and the very best hooks. The only thing missing is the thread which you can purchase separate on the site by clicking the link here (coming soon). We took the guess work out on trying to find the best materials to tie egg patterns.
