“Angling Adventures: Friends, Customers, and Memorable Catches”

Our recent fishing expedition was filled with excitement as we landed numerous rainbows and a handful of beautifully colored smaller browns. One standout moment was when Henry, accompanied by Dirty, reeled in an impressive 22-inch brown while stripping a white feather changer with a chartreuse double barrel popper/slider body during the shad kill.

Meanwhile, Dirty and his friend Kirtis had their own successful outing, with Dirty hooking a brown in the lower flows using a mega worm. It was a fantastic weekend spent with good friends and fishing customers during the day, creating lasting memories.

Reflecting on our experiences, witnessing our clients enjoy memorable trips and hooking into browns always brings us joy. We’re grateful to everyone who visits our town and allows us to be part of their fishing adventures.

As we transitioned into the four-day group trip with Kelly Newman’s Michigan Streamside crew, anticipation ran high. While day one showed promising results, the pace for the shad kill slowed on subsequent days. However, as any angler knows, fishing comes with its subsides and flows.

Despite the subdued activity, we managed to land a few noteworthy catches, including a striking tiger trout that stole the spotlight. Challenges with hook sets were encountered, particularly when fish took the top fly, but it’s all part of the game.

Notably, the absence of shad sightings, both by us and the resident seagulls, contributed to the subdued bite. However, with heavy generation slated for the following day, hopes are high for a resurgence in shad activity. It’s fascinating how a single pulse of shad can imprint on the fish, triggering a prolonged preference for white patterns.

Ultimately, fishing is as much about adapting to the ever-changing conditions as it is about deciphering the mysteries of fish behavior. Each day on the water brings fresh opportunities and discoveries, fueling our passion and driving us back for more adventures.
